Multi-follicular Hair Transplants Are Fast And Effective And Look GreatMulti-follicular Hair Transplants is a technique used to restore hair for balding patients. Hair grows in follicular units or groups. These groups usually contain between 1 to 4 hairs. The naturally occurring follicular units also include fine vellus hairs, nerves, a small muscle, and oil glands. In multiple follicular unit transplants surgeons safely transplant many follicular units to the area of the head where the person is experiencing hair loss. By performing grafts using multiple follicular units in a single session, the surgeon is able to get great looking results almost instantly.

This new advance in hair transplantation is largely undetectable. That because the transplanted hair grows just the way natural hair does. The result looks almost miraculous. The formally balding patient ends up with a head fully of naturally growing healthy hair. Micrografts attempt to move one hair at a time and can require numerous procedures to give people the full head of hair they desire. With multiple follicular unit transplants, it only takes one session to transform bald spots into areas fully covered with healthy, natural-looking, growing hair. This saves patients time and money.

Now men and women that are losing their hair have another safe and viable option for getting the unsightly bald spots taken care of quickly, simply, safely, and cost-effectively. Plus the multiple follicular unit transplant procedure provides more natural looking results than many other techniques. When the procedure is complete, no one will know you have had it done unless you tell them. This pioneering technique can help to give you the full, youthful head of hair you've always had. That's because it uses carefully harvested split graphs to full in the bald area on the patient's head.

Using this technique offers many great advantages. It saves people from needing multiple procedures. There is less tissue damage. It eliminates the 'clumps' or 'hair plugs' many other techniques produce. It saves time and money. The most important benefit is it leaves people with virtually undetectable, natural-looking hair where their bald spots used to be. If you want a fast, safe, effective way to eliminate bald spots and leave you with a more natural look, consider having the innovative, new multi-follicular hair transplants.

Tips for Hiding That Bald Spot

tips for hiding thinning hairHiding That Bald Spot - Tips & Tricks

Thinning hair is a problem that strikes many men and can wreak havoc on their personal style. However, all hope is not lost. There are many tips and tricks that men can use to hide any bald and thinning patches of hair.

The first option is the comb-over. This can be accomplished using just hairspray and a comb as your supplies to cover up a bald spot. All you have to do is comb longer hair so that it falls naturally, but still covers up the spot that you wish to hide.

There is also the option of coloring your hair in order to help camouflage any baldness. This is an option for subtle change that can pay big dividends. All you have to do is dye your hair one or two shades darker in order to help block the light from hitting your scalp. The ultimate effect is thicker looking hair.

Another option is hair fibers which can be used to create the illusion of fuller hair for men. These fibers are microscopic and electrostatically charged, and they stick to hair and create a fuller look. All you have to do is sprinkle the fibers on like salt, and they will instantly make your hair look thicker.

For men in search of a more permanent option, there is the option of a tattoo. It isn’t a tattoo in the traditional sense, but Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a technique to tattoo the scalp with tiny dots of pigment that match your hair color. This option works best for those with hair that is very short as it will not look natural on men that like to keep their hair longer because it creates a uniform, even stubble effect that blends in best with shorter hair.

The final option is to embrace it. Instead of trying to grow your hair out to cover the baldness, embrace it with a short, textured look. The best cut for those facing baldness is for the hair to be cut as short as it can be without showing the scalp, and leaving the hair cut blunt rather than choppy. Also, styling products such as a sea salt spray or a matte wax can be used with a short cut to achieve the perfect look.

Thinning hair does not have to wreck your style with all of the options available to take advantage of.

Be Nice to Your Hair

Some Hair Thinning Can Be Self Inflicted

Easy Does It - hairstyles like cornrows or too-tight braids can cause hair loss called traction alopecia.

All of the things women do to manipulate their hair -- dyes, chemical treatments, bad brushes, blow dryers, and flat irons -- can result in damage and breakage, Roberts says. This includes brushing too much and towel drying aggressively when the hair is wet.

Luckily, for most of these issues, the hair grows back or the loss can be reversed with medical treatments. But it is important to see a professional if there seems to be something wrong, because the sooner treatment is started, the better the chances are for improving your growing season.

Here at Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Ft. Worth, our hair restoration specialists offer a number of treatment options to fit your specific needs. From hair regrowth for women, hair transplants, chemotherapy wigs, and laser hair therapy—we are your number-one resource for hair replacement services in the Dallas and Ft. Worth areas.

The magic of television is so powerful, it can produce hair where there is none! "Two and a Half Men" star Jon Cryer revealed Monday night that he is nearly bald.

The "spectacular mane of unruly wonderfulness" that he sported back in the '80s in movies like "Pretty in Pink" is gone and his hair on the hit comedy is actually an "elaborate illusion." "This is the work of several talented professionals making the most of, like, four hairs," he told Conan O'Brien on the host's late-night show.

"It's amazing, actually, what they can do. I'm not wearing a piece or anything like that, but it's a long, involved process that starts with stuff like shoe polish." Yes, the Emmy-winning actor's hair is painted on. "They get a roller type thing and just whoosh along the top," Cryer explained. "You have to decide if you're going to go full [John] Travolta and get the full front in. And then they literally sprinkle powder in from a salt shaker."

A flabbergasted O'Brien asked what happens to the fake hair when it rains. "You're out of luck," Cryer laughed. "It flattens out and you can get the nice little rivulets going down. But thankfully, your eyebrows will channel down the side.

" RIP, Ducky's coif!

How you wash your hair and the products you use can go a long way toward maintaining smooth, shiny hair. Follow these simple tips from dermatologists to maintain healthy hair.

  • Wash oily hair more frequently. How often you wash your hair should be based on how much oil your scalp produces.
  • If your scalp is oily, you may need to wash it as often as once a day.
  • If you have chemically treated hair, your hair may be drier, so you may want to wash it less frequently.
  • As you get older, your scalp makes less oil, so you may not need to shampoo as often. But if you see flakes in your hair, you may not be shampooing enough. This can lead to dandruff and other scalp diseases.
  • Concentrate shampoo on the scalp. When washing your hair, concentrate on cleaning primarily the scalp, rather than washing the entire length of hair. Washing only your hair can create flyaway hair that is dull and coarse.
  • Use conditioner after every shampoo unless you use a “2-in-1” shampoo, which cleans and conditions hair. Using a conditioner can significantly improve the look of damaged or weathered hair by increasing shine, decreasing static electricity, improving strength and offering some protection from harmful UV rays.
  • Concentrate conditioner on the tips of the hair. Because conditioners can make fine hair look limp, they only should be used on the tips of the hair and not on the scalp or length of the hair.
  • Choose a shampoo and conditioner formulated specifically for your hair type. For example, if you color your hair, use a shampoo designed for color-treated hair. If your hair is damaged or chemically treated, consider a “2-in-1” shampoo. Regardless of cost, many shampoo and conditioner brands provide the same benefits.
  • Protect hair when swimming. Protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine by wetting and conditioning your hair before swimming. Wear a tight-fitting swim cap and use a specially formulated swimmers shampoo and deep conditioner after swimming to replace lost moisture.

Let's Talk Minoxidil

Minoxidil (2% or 5% solution) is a spray or lotion that you put directly on your scalp twice a day. It is available without a prescription.

Minoxidil is a spray or lotion that you put directly on your scalp twice a day. It is available without a prescription.Applied topically, minoxidil prolongs the hair's growth phase. It's available over-the-counter in 2 and 5 percent formulas. Only the lower dose is approved for women, but many doctors recommend using the higher dose (though it carries a risk of increased facial hair growth). Massage minoxidil into the scalp twice daily; regrowth should appear in about six months (a three-month supply costs around $50). Minoxidil must be used daily. If you stop using minoxidil, any regrown hair will gradually be lost, and within 6 to 12 months the scalp will most likely appear the same as before treatment. Women may have more hair growth if they take minoxidil with estrogen (such as hormone replacement or birth control pills). If you stop treatment, hair density returns to what it would be if you had never used the medicine.

It is unclear how minoxidil affects hair growth. Minoxidil appears to increase hair follicles camera and also thickens the shafts of existing hair so that it grows in thicker. Some people who take minoxidil only grow hair that is thin and wispy or similar to peach fuzz. Minoxidil seems to work best on people younger than 30 years of age who have been losing hair for fewer than 5 years.1. The most common side effects include skin irritation, dandruff, and an itchy scalp. In women, minoxidil may promote facial hair growth, especially on the forehead and cheeks. If you have heart problems, ask your doctor about using this medicine.
