About Clip-In Hair ExtensionsAll About Clip in Hair Extentions
No longer do you have to wait for your hair to grow out. Clip-in hair extensions give you the appearance of longer and more voluminous hair quickly and easily. They are equally useful to stylists and home users and can transform your look in mere minutes. You can use them to add bangs or highlights without doing anything to your own hair.

How to Buy Clip-In Hair Extensions
The first thing to do is to educate yourself on the different types of clip-in hair extensions. These include human hair extensions, synthetic extensions and novelty extensions. Each type allows the user to achieve certain effects whether the desired effects are subtle or dramatic. Clip-in hair extensions can be purchased in a number of places ranging from general retailers to beauty supply websites where you can browse by length, style and hair type among other factors. Before buying, find out how many grams are in the set and know how many grams you will need. Also, look for extensions that have snap clips with u-shaped tines as these will do a better job of holding.

How to Use Clip-In Hair Extensions
While it may be helpful to have a trained hair stylist put in your hair extensions, most of the work has been done for you when you choose clip-in extensions. The clips are sewn to the wefts so that it is easy to snap them open and attach them to your hair near the root.

Start by sorting your wefts according to size. Place small with small and large with large and so on.

Next, part your hair on one side. Make another perpendicular part at a right angle from the first one down to your ear. Use a clip to hold this section of hair in place. Do the same thing on the other side of your head. Next, section off the bottom inch of hair at the back of your head and clip the hair above it together.

Choose the weft that best fits each section. Use two wefts for the first section of hair. If the weft has two clips, the clips should be spaced two inches apart.

Use small rubber bands to make small sections of hair that are about the same distance apart as the clips.

Open the clips and snap closed on the rubber bands with the prongs of the clip facing down. Smooth the hair out with a brush.

Will Clip In Hair Extensions Cause Damage?
If they are applied correctly and properly maintained, clip-in extensions should cause no damage to natural hair. You should not sleep with them in and you will need to wash them regularly to remove the buildup of styling products. With the right amount of care, you should be able to get as many as 10 wears from your extensions.
